My interests are seen in the shifting views of the woman through a sculptural approach. Here I express the shift in the post modern woman, varying from women influenced by the gaze towards the traditional views of the female bust and contemporary representations of the female figure. The shift is seen in the way women are represented in the media and is brought back towards traditional approaches to monumentalize the female nude through sculpture.
Represented through a unique style, I have constructed and modeled the female busts with metal using a welding gun, constructing each figure piece by piece. This construction technique dismisses any other influence, embedding the interpretation of constructed femininity within the merging of subject and materials.
